سعاد العطار فنانة تشكيلية عراقية رائدة ولدت في بغداد في 23 تموز 1942 لها اعمال في جميع أنحاء العالم.
نالت العطار شهادتي بكالوريوس من جامعة بغداد ومن جامعة ولاية كاليفورنيا. تابعت دراستها العُليا في لندن حيث درست فنون الحفر في كلية ويمبلدون للفنون والكلية المركزية للفن والتصميم.
بعد تخرجها درّست في جامعة بغداد وفي 1965 أقامت معرضاً فردياً في بغداد فكانت أول فنانة تعرض أعمالها في العراق.
غادرت سعاد بغداد مع زوجها و اولادها في عام 1976 و استقرت في بريطانيا.
كرمت بجوائز عديدة أولها في مهرجان بينالي الدولي بالقاهرة في عام 1984 و جائزة التميز في مهرجان بينالي الذي عقد في مالطا عام 1995.
تنتمي سعاد العطار إلى جيل من الفنانين تمتع بأسس تربوية من وضع أساتذة فن تربويين من أمثال حافظ الدروبي وفائق حسن.
مع أن العطار تعيش في لندن منذ سنة 1976 فقد ظلت مخلصة لتراث العراق مسقط رأسها الثقافي. تبنت ماضي العراق في الفنون الشعبية واستلهمت من الشعر العربي والتاريخ والأساطير.
عقدت سعاد العطار اكثر من عشرين معرضا منفردآ حول العالم. للأسف تعرضت أعمالها للنهب من متاحف بغداد في أعقاب الحرب عام 2003. أعمال العطار مقتنية من المؤسسات الفنية العالمية المرموقة مثل المتحف البريطاني والمتحف العربي للفن الحديث في الدوحة و مجموعة غولبينكيان.

Suad Al Attar is a leading Iraqi fine artist born in Baghdad on July 23, 1942, with works all over the world.
Attar received two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Baghdad and the University of California. She continued her higher education in London where she studied drilling arts at Wimbledon College of Art and the Central College of Art and Design.
After graduating she studied at the University of Baghdad and in 1965 she held an exhibition in Baghdad. She was the first artist to exhibit her work in Iraq.
Suad left Baghdad with her husband and children in 1976 and settled in Britain.
Awarded many prizes the first was at the Biennial International Festival in Cairo in 1984 and the Biennial of Excellence Award in Malta in 1995.
Suad Al Attar belongs to a generation of artists who enjoyed the educational foundations of the development of art teachers such as Hafez Al-Doroubi and Faiq Hassan.
Although Al Attar has lived in London since 1976, she has remained faithful to Iraq's cultural heritage. She adopted Iraq's past in the folk arts and was inspired by Arabic poetry, history and mythology.
Suad Al Attar held more than twenty solo exhibitions around the world. Unfortunately, her works were looted from the Baghdad museums in the aftermath of the war in 2003. Attar's work is exhibited by prestigious international art institutions such as the British Museum, the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha and the Gulbinkian Group.
